John E. Baker, MD

Orthopedic Surgeon

John E. Baker, MD

Dr. John Baker is a board-eligible orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, shoulder and knee injuries, arthroscopic surgery, and total joint replacement.

Dr. Baker received his early medical education in the US Navy before earning a bachelor of science from the University of Nevada–Las Vegas. He earned his medical degree at Tulane University School of Medicine, graduating in the top ten of his class, and conducted postgraduate work at Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Baker returned to the US Navy and served as a commander until his departure with honorable discharge into private practice in 2006. He is currently a member of the American Orthopedic Association.

Dr. Baker is one of the only providers in the area using Patient Specific Instruments (PSI) for knee joint replacement. PSI combines advancements in instrument technology with proven orthopedic alignment principles to help ensure a patient’s successful recovery. These proven, custom-positioned implants are such a success that patients are more comfortable and feel more like themselves in less time.

Dr. Baker has received multiple awards for outstanding care, professionalism, and honor. He is affiliated with several local hospitals and surgery centers.

Tyson Tabora, DPM, AACFAS

Tyson Tabora, DPM,

Dr. Tyson Tabora is a board-qualified rearfoot and forefoot surgeon. Born and raised in South Florida, he specializes in reconstructive surgeries involving the lower leg, ankle, and foot.

Dr. Tabora treats a variety of pathologies. His particular areas of interest are: foot and ankle reconstructive surgery, plantar fasciitisbunion and hammertoe correction, sports-related injuries, ankle arthroscopy, tendon and ligament injuries, arthritis, diabetic limb salvage, PRP therapy, stem-cell therapy, Achilles tendonitis and foot and ankle trauma. He has had the privilege of presenting at both local and national conferences on a multitude of topics.

Dr. Tabora currently lives and practices in Palm Beach County, Florida and grew up in the Wellington area. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys spending time with his wife, three daughters, going to the beach, and watching collegiate and professional sports.

Gary Edman, PA-C

Physician Assistant

Gary is a certified physician assistant for Dr. John Baker. He joined Allegiance Orthopedics in 2014, bringing years of experience taking care of patients in various settings including outpatient surgery and emergency care.  

Gary has a master's degree in biomedical science and a bachelor's degree in microbiology. He earned his certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) in 2011 after graduating from Miami Dade College in Miami, Florida. He also worked as a certified EMT and paramedic in Florida prior to becoming a physician assistant.
